Most plus-size clothing starts life as a medium and gets stretched on a screen. The shoulders stay narrow, the armhole stays high, and the waist is simply widened. It looks like plus size on a size chart. It does not feel like plus size on a body.
We do it differently. Our plus-size block is cut separately for women and men, from 2XL to 5XL, across classic, stretch and jogger fits. The starting point is the body, not the pattern.
What changes in a real plus-size block:
- The shoulder slope and armhole depth are adjusted so the sleeve does not pull. - The bust, waist and hip ratio is treated as three measurements, not one. - The rise is longer, so the waistband sits where it should. - The thigh and seat have room to move without extra fabric hanging loose. - The hem length is checked on the body, not only on the table.
For teams, the same logic applies. A 3XL in one department is not automatically the right 3XL in another. We ask for measurements, send a sample when the order justifies it, and record the fit so repeat orders do not start from zero.
Plus size is also where customisation matters most. Colour, embroidery, sleeve length, pocket placement and the amount of stretch can all be adjusted. The goal is not to hide the body. The goal is a uniform that looks intentional.
