At 20 pieces, a tailor can adjust each garment. At 500, the pattern has to be right before cutting begins, because there is no room for individual fixes.
That is why we insist on a pre-production sample for large runs. It is the last cheap moment to correct a collar, a pocket or a size grade.

Fabric sourcing changes too. A small order can use available stock. A large order may need multiple rolls, and those rolls must be checked for shade before cutting. We reserve fabric early for bulk clients.
Production is split into bundles by size and colour. Each bundle has its own checkpoints, so a problem in one size does not quietly travel through the entire run.
Communication becomes the biggest difference. With 500 pieces, the client usually has multiple stakeholders: admin, nursing, procurement and sometimes a brand team. We assign one coordinator so decisions do not get lost between departments.
The goal is simple. A 500-piece order should feel like the same product as the sample, just repeated.
