Care Instructions
Wash cold, skip the bleach and the softener, iron inside out, and the colour and stretch will outlast the shift rotation.

Clinical wear is washed far more often than everyday clothing. These instructions keep the colour, the stretch and the embroidery intact for the life of the garment.
Washing
- Machine wash cold or warm, up to 40°C, on a gentle or normal cycle.
- Turn the garment inside out before washing, especially if it is embroidered.
- Wash whites separately from colours for the first few washes.
- Close zips and fasten Velcro before washing so it does not snag other garments.
- Use a mild detergent. Do not use bleach, and do not use fabric softener on stretch fabrics: it coats the fibres and reduces recovery.
- Wash heavily soiled OT wear separately from everyday scrubs.
Drying
- Tumble dry low, or hang to dry in the shade.
- Avoid direct sun for long periods on dark shades; it fades vat-dyed colour.
- Do not wring embroidered areas by hand.
- Fluid-resistant garments air-dry best; high heat shortens the life of the coating.
Ironing
- Iron on low to medium heat, inside out, or use a pressing cloth.
- Never iron directly over embroidery; press on the reverse side.
- Do not iron fluid-resistant coatings, prints or badges.
- Steam is fine on poly-cotton; skip it on stretch fabrics if the garment is already crease-free.
Stains
| Stain | First step |
|---|---|
| Blood | Rinse in cold water immediately. Hot water sets it. |
| Iodine or betadine | Dab with cold water, then a mild detergent; do not rub. |
| Ink | Blot, then treat with a small amount of rubbing alcohol before washing. |
| Coffee or tea | Rinse cold, then wash with detergent at the normal temperature. |
| Grease or ointment | Apply a little dish soap, leave for ten minutes, then wash. |
Treat a stain before it dries where you can. If a garment has been through a dryer with the stain still in it, the heat can fix it permanently.
Embroidered garments
- Wash inside out on a gentle cycle, or by hand.
- Do not tumble dry on high; the thread can pucker as the cloth shrinks around it.
- Trim any loose thread with sharp scissors rather than pulling it.
- If a stitch comes loose, send us a photograph; we will tell you whether it can be repaired.
Storage
Store clean and dry, away from damp. Do not leave garments in a plastic bag while still warm: trapped moisture causes odour and, on coated fabrics, mildew. For institutional laundry, follow your facility's protocol where it is stricter than this guidance.
These instructions cover normal wear. If a garment is used with disinfectants or industrial laundry chemicals, follow the chemical supplier's directions and test on an inconspicuous area first.
